Travel, for leisure and social connection, is on the “bucket list” for many people, and a critical part of living well with ILD. You may have ILD, but that doesn’t mean you can’t travel, and it may actually help your mood and wellbeing. We want to help you plan a safe trip, and are here to give you advice on how to manage your ILD and oxygen needs with travel.
The first and most important step is to discuss with your provider if travel is safe for you. If it is, you will want to start planning for travel at least 1 month in advance if you already have supplemental oxygen at home, and at least 3 months in advance if you need supplemental oxygen but do not have it yet.
Please see our travel section under "Supplemental Oxygen" here.
